“925” is best described as a Rock & Roll Party Dance Band. Our band can play in a wide variety of events including corporate, festivals, private parties & night clubs. Our goal is to put our clients at ease when planning the musical aspect of their party. We have something for a variety of generations, playing musical genres to capture everyone’s interest. Melina Diaz was born and raised in Napa, CA and has always had a passion to perform and entertain. Melina's musical endeavors have taken her from singing in choirs to fronting rock bands. She has also had the opportunity to share the stage with Jorge Santana, Narada Michael Walden, and REO Speed Wagon while performing backup vocals with the band PUSH. Other stage appearances include, Annie Get Your Gun, Donna in The Taffetas, and Rosalia in West Side Story. After taking a break from the stage, she realized her passion for performing wasn’t going away. Melina loves the support she receives from all of the people around her. She is now a Featured Wise Girl in the 925 band!
Reese started singing and dancing at the age of 5. Besides loving bands like Journey, Van Halen, Heart, Fleetwood Mac and The Foo Fighters, her musical influences growing up were listening to her mother's love of Motown and her father's favorites, Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole and The Beatles. She has performed in local shows with Pinole Community Players of The Full Monty (Susan/Molly) , The Wiz ( Scarecrow) , Shout! The Mod Musical (Green Girl), Lafayette's V-Day of The Vagina Monologues and Peter Pan to name a few. Reese has also graced the stage with artist such as Eddie Money, REO Speed Wagon, Cheap Trick, Narada Michael Walden and Jorge Santana. She is now Featured as one of The Wise Girls in the 925 Band
Born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia. Inherited her father's musical genes, who was talented and well-known jazz musician and composer. Nadin started to have fun with her vocal skills at the age of 12, exercising with Mariah Carey songs up to the whistling register, and that's how she became a self-taught vocalist. However, she prefers heavy metal and and varieties of rock music genre. Has contributions with rock/metal musicians all over the world, making original songs and covers. (As an example, her most popular metal cover of 'System of a Down' has over 3M views on YouTube). "But performing from stage in front of audience can be never compared to anything and is priceless."
Rick began singing in elementary school in the church choir. For years Rick honed his style singing in Karaoke joints, then in 1999 (thank you Prince) Rick became the founding member of a classic-rock & blues cover band in the SF Peninsula called The Jack Aces. As front-man and PA system operator, Rick rocked the greater San Francisco Bay Area for 12 years. Rick performed hits from a wide range of Classic Rock & Roll, as well as Blues. In 2011, Rick joined another group of talented musicians in the East Bay called Delta Road. Playing an even wider range of songs, including music from Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pink Floyd, and ZZ Top.
SJ (aka Sleepless J) contributes sax and backing vocals. SJ spent her formative years in a marching band walking around freezing football fields in Texas. Happily relocating to California 2 decades ago, she now enjoys the sun, fun and fog in the Bay Areawhile making music in the world's absolute BEST city for music! SJ has played a wide range of instruments and situations including pit orchestras, classical groups, chamber ensembles, recording sessions and numerous other bands and genres - rock, pop, soul,R&B, Americana, salsa, Brazilian, Pak-Indo, polka, lounge, worldbeat, hip-hop, tribute, originals, and professional entertainment bands such as The 925 Band. Recent appearances include Carnaval Austin, SF Cinco de Mayo, SF Carnaval, World One Festival. Havehorn, will travel - SJ is always ready to rock!
Albert has several years of classical Piano training as a teen. After playing Guitar for several years, he switched to Bass Guitar. Playing in a variety of bands he has played classic rock, progressive rock, rocking' blues, pop and disco in different bands. It is a great experience making people happy when playing in a band! Al holds the bottom end of 925 together.
Kirk is a Bay Area native and long-time musician that has been playing in bands since he was 13. With musical interests ranging from classical to rock, pop, soul and funk. He has most recently played with local groups Pop Nation, as well as The Raving Daves, the PeopleSoft corporate band in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as Fortune Magazine’s Best Band Winner in the Corporate Battle of the Bands.
Joe's first interest in drums was at the age of 11. He received a drum set three years later for Christmas and took lessons and loved it. Joe played in junior high and high school concert bands. After high school he played in a band with four other friends touring many of the Chicago & Milwaukee clubs. Joe is now the "man" playing drums and percussion for The 925 Band.
Mark has played in rock bands since his 20’s to early 30’s as his profession back in Korea. His influences include Deep Purple, James Gang, Santana, Doobie Brothers, and more. During his lengthy music career, Mark was exposed to different instruments and can play the guitar, bass, saxophone, flute, and keyboard. He has played in many different bands across several genres including blues, country, classic rock, and top 40 dance tunes. Recent bands he has played with include California Groove and Urban Sky.
Linda Livingston was born and raised in Hayward, CA. From the age of eight years old Linda’s dream was to be an entertainer. Linda began playing Congo drums and studying music, percussion, trap drums, piano and guitar while attending Chabot College. She transferred to San Francisco State and received a BA degree in Music. After graduating college, Linda embarked on a professional career in music as a percussionist/trap-drummer, an actor and a writer. As a percussionist/drummer Linda played with a number of local music bands, playing an array of music styles ranging from Jazz, R&B, Rock and Latin. Linda played percussion and recorded on an album with local musician Grant Watson and “Obsession” CD recorded by Ricardo Scales. On this project Linda recorded alongside of Juan Escovedo. In June 2019 Linda was invited on stage to play with Carlos Santana at the Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland, CA.
Jennifer Pence is a singer/songwriter that started singing in church at a very young age. She has recorded a number of original songs and performed in multiple bands from Vegas to California throughout her career. Currently she is still singing in church and also has a band of her own called Room 43. She is one of the newest members of The 925 band. When she is not singing, she is an advocate for autism awareness and loves spending time with her autistic 8 year old son.
